Yammer

Microsoft’s Yammer is a social network for your enterprise – think of it as a workplace-friendly version of Facebook.  Yammer allows colleagues to connect and “follow” each other, ensuring that your staff have a broader understanding of what’s happening in the business, what projects others are working on and the progress of initiatives that they may have an interest in.

Like any social media tool, Yammer encourages organic content creation, and the ability to share content, comment and collaborate.  Yammer can also be used for knowledge management within your organisation and particularly beneficial when you have a disparate workforce.
