Video: ITSB17 – Launch Of New Model For The App Economy

ITSB17 Summary

ITSB17 the platform for an Adaptive Technology Model; a blueprint for leveraging technology to drive organisational performance

The key event in IT Lab’s annual calendar – ITSB17 – was attended by business leaders and technologists representing over 140 organisations and 20 industry sectors. They heard from an illustrious panel of experts within the world-famous setting of McLaren; the home of racing with a rich automobile heritage.

IT Lab’s CEO, Peter Sweetbaum commented: “as McLaren’s strategic partner and technology services provider, the venue was the obvious choice for our strategy briefing for the second year running.”

The event’s M.C. was Suzi Perry, best known for her role as the first female presenter of the BBC’s Formula 1. Matt Lockie, McLaren Technology Centre’s IT Director, warmly welcomed the delegates and remarked: “McLaren is a diverse organisation involved in all types of innovations. We are all about performing on the track and as a business, which is why we have such strong links with IT Lab.”

Peter Sweetbaum was delighted to share the platform with his senior team alongside specialists from Egnyte, Mimecast, Duo, Aryaka, Microsoft, Virtual1, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, Phaidon International, Cloudhouse Technologies, Mattioli Woods and Perspective Risk.

Leveraging Technology To Break Down Silos And Improve User Experiences

The highly anticipated strategy launch, an Adaptive Technology Model, was outlined to the 120 strong delegates who also received a white paper which can be downloaded here: An Adaptive Technology Model.

The model is a framework for organisations to implement and access an interchangeable collection of web-delivered services. This enables freedom of choice and the seamless movement of data, breaking down silos and engendering better user experiences for employees and customers alike.

Over the coming weeks and months, IT Lab, in collaboration with its partners, will release a series of resources to support the delivery of an Adaptive Technology Model

Cyber Security Capability

The day was also used to make a key announcement: IT Lab is expanding its cyber security portfolio following the acquisition of Perspective Risk.  Michael Bateman, IT Lab’s Cyber Services Director said: “We had worked with Perspective Risk for some time, and were hugely impressed by the credentials, professionalism and experience of their founders – Pravesh Kara and Zia Rehman, and their team.

"Having explored potential alliances with dozens of other information security companies, Perspective Risk stood head and shoulders above the pack. They are an exceptional group of people and will help our customers protect their reputations and data from the current and emerging threats cyber-crime poses."

At the conclusion of an inspiring and thought-provoking day, Peter Sweetbaum remarked: “It was our most dynamic event yet – the quality of the presentations and panel discussions was excellent and the feedback from our delegates was overwhelmingly positive. The bar for next year’s ITSB has been set even higher. We're looking forward to helping our customers realise the value the app economy can deliver.”

Angela Eager, Research Director with TechMarketView and a respected industry analyst with 20 plus years experience assessing the IT market, commented on IT Lab’s Adaptive Technology Model: “I've heard similar propositions at other events but today has moved this forward and been more imaginative.

“There was a real understanding of the importance of iterative developments; the small changes to make big differences. That mind-shift is going to be necessary for successful digital transformation.”
